Foundational Aspects of Global Computing The FLAGS project is a joint effort of five academic and research institutes in foundational algorithmic research in Europe. The aim of the project is to provide a unifying scientific framework and a coherent set of design rules, for global systems resulting from the integration of autonomous interacting entities, dynamic multi-agent environments and ad-hoc mobile networks. The project takes place between January 2002 to December 2004. It is funded by the European Commission under the Future and Emerging Technologies part of the Information Society Technologies programme of the Fifth Framework, as project number IST-2001-33116. The project details in terms of Action Line, Organization and Description of Work at a high level are maintained by CORDIS, under the IST section. The results of the project have been communicated in the exhibition (stand 1.200) organized as part of the Communicating European Research 2005 International Conference that took place at the Brussels Exhibition Center (Heysel), 14-15 November 2005.
An article describing the results of the project have appeared in the IST Results Service on CORDIS. To read the article, click here. An advertorial providing a high level description of the project has appeared in the Parliament Magazine (European Politics and Policy), Issue 213 that appeared on 14th of November 2005, pp.54.
