ΟΝΕ will develop an integrated decision support tool to balance the optimality of logistics in terms of costs, reliability on prediction accuracy with environmental and social impacts. The solution requires real-life modeling of supply-chains and logistics by fist collecting and analysing real data and then building validated models to simulate, forecast and optimize the supply chain. In summary the project will: a) increase the competitiveness of European enterprises (including SMEs) by using operationally realistic case studies, b) optimise logistic networks while minimizing environmental impact, c) investigate fuel efficient and environmental friendly alternatives to track based carriers, and d) investigate the impact on logistics work practices, including safety.
