GRAAL/AEOLUS School on Hot Topics in Network Algorithms Print

Project AEOLUS, and partially supported by BiCi under its Leonardo Melandri Programme, COST 293 organizes this spring a training school on Hot Topics in Network Algorithms in Bertinoro, Italy at May 4-8, 2008. More information and registration for the school can be found on the corresponding website.

A crucial component to the successful development of future communication technologies is the design of networks best suited to the management of large bandwidth and high quality requisites of emerging services. Network design incorporates important aspects such as protocol design or routing over different kinds of technologies such as wireless, wired and optical fibre-based communication.

The aim of the school is to offer a good spectrum of current research in algorithmic foundations and applications of communication networks, which can be of interest for graduate students and young researchers who intend to approach the field.

Attendance is limited to about 40 students. The early registration fee is 350 Euro which include all meals and on-site lodging in double-occupancy rooms (for a single-occupancy room the fee is 480 Euro). For late registration comes an extra fee of 50 Euro.

Ph.D. students may apply for a grant to reduce the fee to 150 Euro by sending e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with a short CV and a letter from their supervisor, certifying the status of Ph.D. student, deadline March 1st. Applicants will be notified by March 7th.

The school is supported by the European COST Action 293 GRAAL, and European Integrated Project AEOLUS. Partial support is also provided by BiCi under its Leonardo Melandri Programme.
